FULL DISCLOSURE: I drank neither of these trendy lattes. Iced coffee only for me! But these were prettier than my coldbrew so I shared them here instead.
ANOTHER TRUE STORY: Yesterday I got several compliments on a new skirt. Little did my admirers know that I was forced to buy that new skirt in the middle of a work day because the zipper on my skirt that I wore to work broke in the ladies room. YEP! LOL.
Moral of the two stories: things aren’t always what they seem. When you look at other people’s “perfect lives,” keep in mind all of the things YOU hold back when posting on social media or talking with your not-so-close friends. You probably don’t show all your cards--so don’t assume others do!
We all want to idealize our lives on the outside--and hey--optimism is a good thing! But let’s try to be more real when we can. I’ve rarely ever connected with someone when I’m talking about how great things are going. No. We bond through the trials, the embarrassing moments, the regrets.
Show a little more of yourself--someone might need to hear YOUR messy story today.
Xx
And don’t forget who Elizabeth’s son was: John The Baptist.
