“Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist” Ephesians 6:13-14 I’ve read the Armor of God portion of Ephesians SO many times, so when we came to this section of our Bible study, I paused to ask God to teach me something new. And guess what? He delivered! Just yesterday (before reading this verse) I was asking God how I can practically “stand firm” when I’m tempted to follow the same negative patterns the world constantly wants us to fall into in our conversations with others. And today I was brought to The verse above, which echoes a message Pastor Georgie Kelsey preached at the Daughters NYC conference this weekend! She preached that in order to stand firm, we have to preach the Word of God TO ourselves throughout the day. That means we should meditate, memorize, and even MURMUR God’s word throughout the entire day. When God’s truth is on our hearts and on our lips--when the enemy does come at us with his schemes, we’ll be able to immediately fight back because it will be so readily available to us. Wow! Thank you Jesus for your wisdom and continual outpouring of grace and teaching. Let’s keep His truth on our hearts, minds, and yes, lips today! Xx #haplous #standfirm #truth
