"Those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God." (Psalm 92:13)
Those who are PLANTED. What does it mean to be planted?
Let’s stop complicating our efforts to stay planted. You don’t have to have some amazing revelation every time you read the Bible. You don’t have to say the most eloquent prayer, you simply have to INVITE the Holy Spirit into your heart, and to read God’s word daily.
Reading God's word daily is KEY. We HAVE to stay connected to Him THROUGH HIS WORD so that He can slowly but surely change our hearts. It’s a practice, it’s a discipline. You might not “feel” something every time you read the Bible, but time spent seeking after God’s heart is NEVER wasted, friends. Really BELIEVE that. Because if you do, you’ll read your Bible every day. The more you do, the more you’ll realize how lost you were without it. Stay planted! If you are looking for a devotional fire starter read, The Secrets of the Secret Place by Bob Sorge....one day at a time, one conversation and consideration for the moment!! Enjoy!!
If you are wanting to learn about the life of Jesus you might start with the book of Mark....just relax, enjoy and consider what is being shared about him. Don't worry over what isn't understood or said just relax and listen for what is speaking to you and make a journal entry if something speaks to you. Say a prayer before you start reading asking for the Holy Spirit to reveal Jesus to you and see what is revealed! Enjoy the journey!! As long as you begin and listen you can't get it wrong!! Hang in there!!
I have utilized the F260 the past 2 years to read through the Bible. There is an APP. The readings are chronological and for me that was helpful.
Can someone please recommend a guide to reading the Bible. I have tried many times to read the Bible but, it seems to me that you can’t read it like any other book. I get lost and frustrated and I’m not sure what I am doing wrong.
