What Happens after "Happily Ever After"?

“When you have eaten & are satisfied, praise the Lord your God for the good land He has given you. Be careful that you do not forget the Lord your God..otherwise..then your heart will become proud and you will forget the Lord your God who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. He gave you manna to eat in the wilderness..to humble and test you so that in the end it might go well with you.”--Deuteronomy 8:10-16

Sam & I just returned from our wedding & honeymoon, and let me just tell you--both were nothing short of a fairytale. Every single detail about the wedding day truly exceeded my expectations (which, FULL disclosure, were VERY high). I AM the girl who dreamt of her wedding her entire life, & THANKS BE TO GOD, He blessed me with a perfect day that Sam & I will both cherish for the rest of our lives (as the Bloom’s>new name alert: HOLLAAAA).

Leading up to the wedding EVERYONE told me, “the day goes by SO quicly, you won’t remember a THING. REALLY try to soak it all in, because it’s over before you know it.” Then I thought, GREAT!, what the HECK am I going to do when all of this is over? What do you do AFTER you get your fairytale ending?

Has something like this ever happened to you? Maybe it’s not a wedding--perhaps it’s your dream job, or your dream city. Halfway up the mountain you think, “Will I be disappointed immediately after the joy I feel when I’ve reached the top?

If so, I’d like to point you to the verse I’ve shared above. Like God’s chosen people, it’s CRUCIAL that we GIVE THE GLORY TO GOD in times of celebration. Even more so, we MUST Understand that He brings us to the top of our mountains simply because He loves us, and that Love NEVER fades away.

The next time you’re at a peak keep this in mind: if God could bring you here, who are you to think He can’t take you somewhere else that you’ve probably never even imagined? Blessed be His Holy Name!
