You Have Not, Because you ASK Not

Design by Mollie Paperie

I’ve been getting the sense lately that God wants me to pray bigger prayers—GOD-SIZED prayers. It was Jesus who said, “You have not, because you ask not”:

"You do not have because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures."

(James 4:2-3)

He didn’t mean that we should treat God as our personal genie and ask Him to fulfill our selfish desires. But remember, God knows us better than ANYONE. And that means: There ARE desires that God has put on our hearts. And many of those desires are wishes that seem too big, too crazy to ask Him for. But God LOVES showing up for us in amazing ways—in ways that make us stop and simply awe at Him because ONLY HE could have done this for us. So go back to those dreams you think are silly or impossible. And ask God to make them happen, with HIS will in mind. Be honest with Him. Ask. X #haplous #thebabystepsblog
